Skating

The Rideau Canal ~ designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site ~ becomes the world’s largest (7.8-kilometres) skating rink every winter! We went out last night it was so fun.

Sleigh rides on the canal- I will have to go!

While skating we saw that they had hung paintings inside the bridge on the canal.

oooohh. i love the rideau canal. i think you do live in a christmas postcard.

unfortunately - very recently the canal has been reduced to world's 2nd longest skating surface, falling to the proud city of winnipeg.

um. i love this blog, i read it, and then a re-read it. i too was skating on the canal, and it's pretty fun, although i do have a beef with it. there's a wheelchair ramp that goes down to the canal... fairly close to city hall, BUT, once your on the ice it's fenced off for 100m to where you can actually start skating. me and a friend (who was in a chair) sorta discovered this the hard way.

well can't wait for it all to freeze. and congratulations to the new york giants for winning the super bowl... wait, we shouldn't talk bout football on this blog.

i skated on the canal to get to a friends birthday party where 2 black lab puppies showed up to celebrate. very cute. ok... i'm going to stop talking.
